MOSCOW: A helicopter with 22 individuals on board, the majority of them sightseers, has disappeared in Russia's Kamchatka promontory in the far east, provincial specialists said on Saturday.


The Mi-8T helicopter took off from a base close to the Vachkazhets well of lava and the team neglected to report at the booked season of 4 GMT, Interfax news organization detailed, refering to the government air transport office.


"Today at around 1615 correspondence was lost with a Mi-8 helicopter...which had 22 individuals ready, 19 travelers and three team individuals," Kamchatka Lead representative Vladimir Solodov said in a video posted on Message.


Salvage groups in helicopters have been looking into the night for the missing airplane, zeroing in on a stream valley that the helicopter was because of fly along, Russian specialists said. The Mi-8 is a Soviet-planned military helicopter that is broadly utilized for transport in Russia.


The missing helicopter had gotten travelers close to the Vachkazhets old spring of gushing lava in a picturesque region of the promontory known for its wild scenes and dynamic volcanoes.
