Warriors Supporter Kamala Harris Welcomes Poole to Washington, D.C.

Jordan Poole, a talented player for the Golden State Warriors, will now be showcasing his skills on the East Coast. Despite the distance, he will still have a familiar face from Dub Nation nearby.

Kamala Harris, the Vice President and a well-known fan of the Warriors, took to Twitter on Saturday to extend a warm welcome to Poole as he joins the Washington Wizards following a blockbuster trade. Harris expressed that Poole will be missed by the Warriors community after his departure. Accompanying her message was a selfie of herself and Poole, captured during the Warriors’ visit to the White House in January to celebrate their victorious 2022 NBA Finals campaign. On that occasion, the team’s superstar, Steph Curry, presented personalized Warriors jerseys to Harris and President Joe Biden.

The trade that shook the NBA landscape involved Poole, along with Patrick Baldwin Jr., Ryan Rollins, and two future draft picks (a second-rounder in 2027 and a top-20 protected first-rounder in 2030), being sent from the Warriors to Washington in exchange for 38-year-old guard Chris Paul.

Recently, the Wizards offered a glimpse of Poole donning their uniform, giving fans an exciting preview of what’s to come.

As Poole embarks on a fresh start in the nation’s capital, Chris Paul will be aiming for his first NBA championship alongside the seasoned core of the Warriors, consisting of Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green.

Harris, an Oakland native and former junior California senator, will be passionately supporting the Warriors in the upcoming season. However, it’s evident that she’ll also be cheering for Poole’s success as he transitions from being a rival to becoming a valuable player for the team.
